What is Pergamot, you ask? ('Bergamots' in English) A fruit commonly grown in the Mediterranean, it is a citrus fruit the size of an orange, imagine something with a flavor between lemon and bitter orange. This Saradis 'sweet' contains peels of ripe, hand-picked pergamots suspended in a delectable syrup. These fragrant peels are also used to flavor Earl Grey Tea.
Chewy, firm and not too sweet (despite the name!) these peels are wonderful chilled, right out of the jar.
Slice and serve with their syrup on French toast, pancakes or waffles, with a dollop of Greek yogurt, mascarpone or whipped ricotta for a citrusy take on a brunch classic.
A wonderful accompaniment to scones, biscuits and toast.
Add as a condiment with a cheese and salami mezze platter.
They are also delicious over ice cream or tangy frozen yogurt!
