A predominantly Mencía blend with Garnacha Tintorera, Ferrón and Bastardo from old vineyards in Bierzo, northwestern Spain. Argentine winemakers Andrea Mufatto, Gerardo Michelini and their son Manuel work with organically farmed vines, many over 50 years old, growing in clay-rich valley soils and slate-covered hillsides around Ponferrada. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and partially whole clusters, then aged in clay amphorae and oak barrels. Bright red fruit, dried flowers, lively acidity and fine tannins characterize this fresh, savory red.
