Arneis is the white grape of the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. At one time it was co-planted with the Nebbiolo grape that makes the great Barolo. The Arneis grape is very aromatic and it was planted thusly to attract the birds and deer away from the more commercially important Nebbiolo. This wine shows tropical fruit, mint, spice, and floral overtones, creating an exotic flavour palette that's intriguing and savoury.
