R.H. Coutier is a small Champagne producer that uses fruit only from his own vineyards, making what is known as Grower Champagne. Grower Champagne often has far more individuality, because the wine is not blended from multiple sources, and therefore bears the stamp of those vineyards, rather than hewing to a house style. Citrus peel, white pepper, mint, and crushed rocks race across the palate. Made only in the best years. 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir.
