Cahors is a wine region in Southwest France. It is a one-grape appellation and that grape is Malbec--but in Southwest France it is called Cot. Cot grown in this part of France is known for making dark robust red wine that is the perfect match for a savoury steak. The vigneron at Coutale is Philippe Bernède, and--incidentally--is the inventor of the finest corkscrew going--which we also carry at Foodscape Walla Walla.
