Bret's remarkable journey commenced in 1991 when Alain Glon initiated a collaboration with Breton farmers to establish a thriving potato industry. His primary objective was to provide additional income to the farmers and breeders by crafting something exceptional—potato chips. Starting from the meticulous selection of potato varieties, through planting, harvesting, and beyond, the farmers of Pontivy wholeheartedly committed themselves to this venture. In 1995, Alain took a bold entrepreneurial step and inaugurated the very first crisp manufacturing facility in Brittany. Ever since that pivotal moment, Brets has been dedicated to producing delectably flavored chips for the discerning French market.
